During spring camp, sophomore athlete Amorion Walker, who was previously listed as a wide receiver for the Wolverines, was moved to cornerback to address a major depth need. Since then, Walker has been garnering a ton of hype within the program; despite injury, Walker is expected to be a difference-maker in Ann Arbor. According to Jim Harbaugh, the rising Michigan football star is expected to eventually take on a two-way role in the Maize and Blue.

After injury heals, Michigan football star could see a two-way role

Don’t expect to see much of Amorion Walker during the first few weeks of the season. According to Jim Harbaugh, who recently addressed the media and appeared on WTKA’s ‘Inside Michigan Football,’ Walker is still battling a fall camp injury. “He’s been working through something all of camp,” Harbaugh said, “so just getting him back healthy is what we’re hoping for and looking for.”

Amorion Walker, who was one of the top competitors for a starting role as CB2 for Michigan football this year, may have been passed by other corners like Josh Wallace for the time being. That said, it sounds like the entire program is still very impressed with what Amorion Walker brings to the table.

Jim Harbaugh continued on about Walker, stating that he anticipates a two-way role for him down the road.

“Ultimately, though, I would like to see Amorion play both sides of the ball (at) corner and wide receiver,” Jim Harbaugh stated.

Right now, the top priority for rising Michigan football star Amorion Walker is to get healthy and see in-game action at cornerback for the Wolverines. Seeing as Michigan is looking thin at wide receiver and cornerback right now, there is still a chance that — when healthy — Walker will see a two-way role in the Maize and Blue.

Walker’s impressive frame and reported freakish athleticism have fans buzzing about his future, despite his three-star rating as a high school prospect.
